Hosting two near sell-out US baseball matches at the Olympic stadium delivered a
￡53m economic boost to London, research suggested on Wednesday.
今年的兩場大聯盟倫敦戰，估計替倫敦當地帶來了5300萬英鎊的經濟效應
About 110,000 fans attended the two Major League Baseball games between the St L
ouis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs in June – with 21,000 people travelling fro
m the US and about 10,000 from mainland Europe.
兩場共計湧入11萬位觀眾
其中約2.1萬從美國飛來+約1萬從歐洲飛來
This added about ￡53m to the capital’s hotel, travel and leisure economy – wi
th knock-on benefits of about ￡7.6m to the rest of the UK.
除了倫敦受惠外(5300萬英鎊)
周邊地區也有得到760萬英鎊的經濟效應
所以合計替英國帶來超過6000萬英鎊
Major League Baseball is due to return to the Olympic stadium next year – when
the New York Mets play the Philadelphia Phillies twice – and again in 2026, und
er a deal signed in New York last year by Mayor Sadiq Khan.
